Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Purchaser (Buyer) responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies. This role includes market research, competitor and trend analysis, product selection, supplier evaluation, and purchase management to ensure optimal product availability and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing Strategy
- Conduct market research to analyze retail competitors and market trends.
- Gather and evaluate market information to support product selection and purchasing decisions.
- Identify potential suppliers and assess their reliability and competitiveness.
2. Compliance
- Ensure all purchasing transactions follow company policies and legal requirements.
- Verify supplier documents and licenses for compliance (e.g., copyrights, sales licenses).
- Evaluate branding and marketing impact of products; maintain proper documentation for all activities.
3. Purchasing Management
- Participate in supplier negotiations and support purchasing administrative tasks.
- Prepare regular purchasing reports and updates for product meetings.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure smooth operations, invoice processing, and account setup.
- Collaborate with store operations teams to monitor product performance and sales impact.
- Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in retail purchasing, merchandising, floor management, or marketing.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
- Interest in home center product categories.
- Ability to work effectively under a foreign supervisor in a multicultural environment.
Priority:
- Experience in household, home furniture, or interior products.
- Background in large retail organizations.
- Experience in high-standard work environments with compliance awareness.
- Stable work history; not a frequent job hopper.
- Overseas study or graduate education is a plus.
