Position Summary

We are looking for a JP Food Merchandising Assistant Manager to drive sales of Japanese food products in retail stores. This position involves product planning, pricing negotiations, and organizing Japan-themed fairs. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, with a passion for Japanese food culture and merchandising.

Key Responsibilities

Assortment & Product Planning

  • Research and plan new product assortments.
  • Develop and implement product, order, and promotion strategies for Japanese goods.
  • Manage import negotiations regarding product duration and pricing.
  • Coordinate orders from warehouses and local suppliers.

Sweets & Gift Corner Management

  • Plan and manage products, promotions, and inventory.
  • Ensure attractive and effective visual merchandising.

Japan Fair Operations

  • Coordinate with vendors, agencies, and related partners.
  • Manage event schedules and budget controls.

Translation & Localization

  • Translate product ingredients and descriptions from Japanese into English and Khmer.
  • Create appealing promotional content for local customers.

Others

  • Participate in company activities such as stocktaking and CSR events.
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication with all departments.
  • Attend internal training and meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2 level or higher) and English.
  • Excellent communication skills with multicultural colleagues.
  • Experience in sales, merchandising, or marketing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • High problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Priority Qualifications:

  • Experience living, studying, or working in Japan.
  • Familiarity with Japanese foods and snacks.
  • Background in retail, such as supermarkets or convenience stores.
  • Understanding of Japanese business practices and etiquette.
  • Experience in inventory management or supply chain operations.
