Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Translation:
– Translate both verbal and written materials from English to Japanese and vice versa as needed.
– Assist with correspondence between overseas staff and customers, ensuring translation quality and accuracy.
– Translate internal and external company documents from Japanese to English (and vice versa) for the CEO. This includes reports, emails, and other communication.
– Understand cultural nuances to convey messages accurately.
– Handle sensitive information with discretion.
Communication:
– Serve as a liaison between the CEO and other departments or external partners.
– Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conferences, and interactions with Japanese clients or partners.
– Handle office communications, including phone calls, emails, and voicemail.
Schedule Management:
– Proactively manage the CEO’s calendar, arranging appointments, meetings, and conference calls.
– Handle scheduling conflicts and adjustments to optimize the executive’s time.
Administrative Support:
– Assist with special projects and ad hoc duties as assigned.
– Maintain accurate records and documentation.
– Other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirement
– Bachelor’s degree in Japanese linguistics.
– High level of discretion, integrity, and organizational skills.
– Experience supporting C-level executives.
– Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures.
– Proven experience as an executive assistant or in a similar role.
– Proven experience in interpreting and translating between Japanese and English in a professional setting is highly valued.
– Familiarity with the banking or financial sector.
– An extensive understanding of Japanese culture, customs, and business etiquette is crucial for accurate translation.
– Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to CEOs needs.
– Relationship management skills.
