POSITION SUMMARY
Position: Bridge Engineer / Japanese Communicator (JP Speaker)
Location: Phnom Penh

Salary Range: $1,000 – $2,300
Serve as a bridge engineer, facilitating communication between Japanese project managers and local engineers. Support project coordination, translation, and small-scale development tasks for the SPIRAL v2 cloud platform.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate communication between Cambodian and Japanese engineers for cloud platform development.
- Explain system specifications to Japanese engineers in Japanese, and to Cambodian engineers in Khmer or English.
- Translate documents between Japanese and English.
- Provide interpretation support during meetings (Japanese ↔ English/KH).
- Perform small-scale development tasks to understand platform services.
- Assist in documentation and explanation of project plans to offshore teams.
- Prepare design documents for offshore clients, including translation and supplementation.
- Conduct quality checks of deliverables for Japanese accuracy.
- Organize and facilitate meetings between Japan and offshore teams.
- Monitor team status and take early action using development management methods.
- Support project management tasks, including quality/cost control, schedule management, and outsourcing coordination.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Japanese proficiency: JLPT N1–N2 level (certificate not required).
- Advanced English proficiency (speaking).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Fresh graduates with 1–3 years of experience are welcome.
- Experience as a Japanese translator or supporter for Japanese communication.
- Enthusiastic about IT and enjoys working with people.
PRIORITY / PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or technical field (basic programming knowledge: JavaScript, Java, etc.).
- Experience as a bridge SE or managing offshore development.
- Experience in acceptance testing, test handling, and project management.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from a foreign university.
- JLPT N1–N2 certificate holder.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Japanese: Advanced (N2–N1)
- English: Advanced
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working Days: Monday – Friday
- Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break), flexible staggered hours 7:00–16:00 or 9:00–18:00
