POSITION OVERVIEW
This role serves as the Interpreter, Secretary, and Assistant to the CEO. The main responsibilities include translating between Japanese and English, managing the CEO’s schedule, providing administrative support, and acting as a liaison between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders. Candidates with banking experience are preferred, but strong Japanese and English skills are essential. This position provides a unique opportunity to work directly under the CEO and gain management exposure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Translation:
- Translate verbal and written materials between Japanese and English
- Assist with correspondence between overseas staff and clients, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Translate internal and external documents, including reports, emails, and other communications for the CEO
- Convey messages accurately, considering cultural nuances
- Handle sensitive information with discretion
Schedule Management:
- Proactively manage the CEO’s calendar, including appointments, meetings, and conference calls
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize the executive’s time
Communication:
- Act as liaison between the CEO, departments, and external partners
- Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, conferences, and interactions with Japanese clients
- Manage office communications, including phone calls, emails, and voicemail
Administrative Support:
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Perform other tasks assigned by the CEO
REQUIREMENTS
- Work experience in banking or financial industry preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Japanese (N1 or high-level N2) and English
- High IQ (7+ in CamUP IQ Test)
- Ability to accurately interpret between Japanese and English
- Strong discretion, integrity, and organizational skills
PRIORITY / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working at a Japanese company, preferably in banking or finance
- Work experience in Japan
WORKING CONDITIONS
- 8:00 – 17:00 (1-hour break), Monday – Friday
